How Arsenal could line up with Marcus Rashford

Sports Mole takes a look at how Arsenal could line up with Marcus Rashford amid links with the Manchester United attacker.

Arsenal have reportedly become the latest team to show an interest in signing Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford.

The unsettled 24-year-old continues to struggle for Premier League starts at Old Trafford and has been tipped to end his association with his boyhood team in the summer.

Rashford is believed to have informed his friends of his desire to leave Man United ahead of the 2022-23 season, but Arsenal would supposedly have to fend off the attention of Liverpool and Barcelona to sign the England international.

With that in mind, Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up with Rashford in the side.

ARS XI w/RASHFORD

A new striker is expected to be Arsenal's number one priority for the summer transfer window, with both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah out of contract and expected to leave at the end of the season.

As a result, Rashford would seemingly slot right into the number nine spot at the Emirates Stadium, even though he has predominantly featured on the left-hand side for Man United in recent times.

Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli are currently battling for that berth, though, as Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard provide the creative sparks for Rashford, who only has four Premier League goals to his name this term.

Granit Xhaka continues to be linked with a move to Roma but has stepped up to the plate alongside Thomas Partey in recent weeks, with Mikel Arteta surely reluctant to part ways with the Switzerland captain.

William Saliba's expected return to the Emirates would lead to stiff competition in the heart of defence, but the Ben White-Gabriel Magalhaes partnership will seemingly not be broken up anytime soon.

Takehiro Tomiyasu ought to slot back in as Arsenal's first-choice right-back when he finally overcomes his troublesome calf issues, with Kieran Tierney and Aaron Ramsdale completing an untouched backline, despite reports of Real Madrid plotting a £50m move for the former.
