Manchester City have reportedly never considered Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe as a serious transfer target.

Manchester City have reportedly never considered Kylian Mbappe to be a serious transfer target, as the Citizens believe that the Paris Saint-Germain attacker is desperate to move to Spain.

Real Madrid are attempting to sign Mbappe before this summer's transfer window closes for business, with Carlo Ancelotti's side currently locked in talks over a possible deal for the France international.

Man City missing out on Harry Kane had led to suggestions that the Citizens could make a late move for Mbappe, who is out of contract in Paris next June.

However, according to The Athletic, the World Cup winner was never seen as an option for the English champions, with Pep Guardiola's side believing that the attacker is destined for Spain.

The report also claims that the 22-year-old rejected the chance to move to the Etihad Stadium in 2017, with PSG winning the race to sign him from Monaco, initially on loan.

Mbappe has scored once and provided two assists in three Ligue 1 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino's side this season but might have now played his last game for the club.
