Manchester City are keeping a close eye on the development of Sheffield Wednesday youngster Bailey Cadamarteri, according to a report.

Manchester City are reportedly one of a number of sides keeping a close eye on Sheffield Wednesday starlet Bailey Cadamarteri.

The 16-year-old has caught the eye with his performances at youth level this term and has featured twice for Wednesday's Under-18 outfit in the FA Youth Cup this season.

Cadamarteri struck the winner in a 1-0 success over Southampton's Under-18s back in December, and according to the Sheffield Star, Man City have been alerted to his rise.

The report adds that Brentford and West Ham United are also monitoring his progress, with the Hammers already touching base to enquire about his availability.

Cadamarteri is not thought to be pining for a move away from Hillsborough, though, even though he cannot sign a professional contract until he turns 17 in May.

The striker is the son of former Everton and Leicester City forward Danny Cadamarteri, who retired with 22 goals to his name from 167 games in the English top flight.
