Manchester City 'closing in on Napoli star Jorginho'

Manchester City reportedly close in on Napoli midfielder Jorginho.

Manchester City are allegedly close to finalising a deal that will bring Napoli star Jorginho to the Etihad Stadium.

The Sky Blues are in talks to land the £50m-rated midfielder ahead of next season, according to Goal.com.

City are said to be keen to sign two players this summer, with Jorginho their first choice to take on a deep-lying midfield role, and manager Pep Guardiola also targeting reinforcements up front.

The Premier League champions also attempted to sign players for these positions in January, failing with bids to sign Shakhtar Donetsk's Fred and Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.

Previous reports have suggested that Guardiola will be given £200m to spend on new players this summer.
