Liverpool allegedly made the decision to part ways with Bobby Duncan after an unproductive training session during pre-season.

Liverpool allegedly made the decision to sell Bobby Duncan during their pre-season tour of the United States.

Despite having been tipped for big things at Anfield, Duncan has failed to make the breakthrough into the senior setup, which partly led to an outburst from the youngster's representative last week.

Liverpool were required to answer allegations of 'bullying' after it was suggested that Duncan was being prevented from securing a move away from the club.

The 18-year-old has now signed for Fiorentina, but the Daily Mail claims that the Champions League winners have been prepared to part ways with the prospect for over a month.

The report suggests that the forward failed to impress and missed a number of chances during a training session on their pre-season tour of the United States.

Both parties allegedly accepted at the time that Duncan did not have a long-term future at the club.
