Liverpool 'determined to sign Bremer this summer'

Torino centre-back Bremer is wanted by Liverpool ahead of the 2021-22 campaign, according to a report.

Liverpool have reportedly identified Torino's Bremer as their leading centre-back target during this summer's transfer window.

The Reds have been plagued by defensive problems this season, with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all currently on the sidelines, while stand-in centre-back Fabinho has also recently been unavailable.

Jurgen Klopp's side signed Ben Davies from Preston North End in January, while Ozan Kabak arrived on loan from Schalke 04, with the latter debuting in Saturday's 3-1 loss to Leicester City.

However, according to The Mirror, Liverpool have already identified Bremer as the ideal player to operate alongside Van Dijk once the Netherlands international has recovered from a serious knee injury.

The report claims that Torino are bracing themselves for a series of offers this summer and are aware that they are unlikely to be able to keep hold of the 23-year-old.

The Brazilian has contributed three goals in 20 appearances for his Italian club this season.
