Liverpool and Barcelona could battle for the signature of Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer, according to a report.

Liverpool and Barcelona could reportedly go head-to-head for the signature of Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans during this summer's transfer window.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed another impressive campaign for the Foxes, scoring nine times and registering six assists in 50 appearances in all competitions.

The Belgium international hit the winner in the FA Cup final against Chelsea last weekend, while he has also found the back of the net on six occasions in the Premier League.

According to Calciomercato, Liverpool are keen to bring the midfielder to Anfield this summer, but the Reds are likely to face intense competition from Barcelona.

The report claims that Leicester are determined to keep hold of Tielemans and extend his current deal, which is due to expire in the summer of 2023.

However, failure to qualify for next season's Champions League could potentially place Brendan Rodgers's side in a vulnerable position.

Tielemans, who will represent Belgium at this summer's European Championships, has scored 17 goals and registered 19 assists in 107 outings for the Foxes in all competitions.
