Lyon attacker Nabil Fekir 'highly unlikely' to join Liverpool

A report claims that Ligue 1 side Lyon will keep hold of France international Nabil Fekir, despite strong interest from Liverpool.

Liverpool will miss out on the signing of Nabil Fekir as Lyon now intend to keep the French attacker, according to a report.

The Reds reached a deal with the Ligue 1 outfit for Fekir earlier this summer, only for the move to break down due to some late dithering on the Merseyside outfit's side.

Lyon chief Jean-Michel Aulas had remained open to the idea of cashing in on his prized asset if the right offer was made, but The Mirror suggests that is no longer the case.

The report indicates that, while a deal is not completely off the table, it is "highly unlikely" to go through in the next few weeks.

Liverpool will bring in Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker for a fee of £67m, which is expected to conclude their transfer business for the summer, having also signed Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri, while Naby Keita's switch from RB Leipzig has been finalised.
