West Ham United are reportedly in talks with star attacker Jarrod Bowen over a new contract amid interest from Liverpool.

West Ham United are reportedly in talks with star attacker Jarrod Bowen over a new contract amid interest from Liverpool.

The 26-year-old has established himself as a key player under David Moyes since joining the Hammers from Hull City in 2020, scoring 45 goals and registering 32 assists in 165 appearances across all competitions.

Bowen contributed with 13 goals and eight assists in 54 games for West Ham last season, and he scored the winning goal in the Europa Conference League final triumph over Fiorentina in June.

The four-cap England international has since made a bright start to the new campaign, scoring five goals and providing one assist in his first seven Premier League appearances.

Bowen scored against Liverpool in a 3-1 defeat at Anfield a few weeks ago, and a potential future move to the red side of Merseyside has been mooted for the attacker.

Jurgen Klopp oversaw a major midfield rebuild at Liverpool during the summer transfer window, but it is thought that the Reds boss is keen to reinforce his options in both attack and defence in the next two transfer windows.

However, according to Football Insider, West Ham will look to fend off interest in Bowen from Liverpool and other potential suitors by offering the attacker a new contract.

The report adds that talks are underway between both parties, with Bowen's current deal at the London Stadium due to expire in June 2025.

West Ham are believed to be unwilling to part ways with another key player after selling Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105m in the summer.

Bowen could be identified by Liverpool as a long-term successor to club legend Mohamed Salah, who was strongly linked with a big-money move to Saudi Arabia in the summer.

The Reds allegedly rejected offers in excess of £150m for Salah from Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad, and insisted that the Egyptian was not for sale at any price.

Clubs in Saudi Arabia could reignite their interest in Salah in the winter window, according to Saudi Pro League director Michael Emenalo, but it remains to be seen whether the 31-year-old is willing to leave the Premier League at this stage of his career.

Salah has won every domestic honour in England as well as the Champions League during his glittering seven-year spell at Liverpool, scoring 190 goals and providing 83 assists in 313 appearances across all tournaments.

The forward, who has chipped in with four goals and four assists in eight games so far this season, will see his current contract at Anfield expire in the summer of 2025.
