Salah in elite company with goalscoring record after netting in Wolves win

Mohamed Salah joins an elite goalscoring crowd by netting his 52nd top-flight Anfield goal in Liverpool's 4-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah has put himself among the European elite by scoring another goal for the Reds at Anfield in their 4-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

The Egyptian capitalised on an error from Conor Coady to break the deadlock in front of 2,000 Liverpool fans, and Jurgen Klopp's men scored three more through Georginio Wijnaldum, Joel Matip and a Nelson Semedo own goal in a dominant victory.

Salah's opener against Wolves took him up to 11 for the season in all competitions, and the 28-year-old is also in the company of the two most prolific forwards in Europe after yet another strike in front of the Anfield faithful.

By scoring for Liverpool at home on Sunday evening, Salah bagged his 52nd Premier League strike on familiar territory, which puts him third on the list of players to score the most goals at a single venue in the big five European leagues since 2017.

Only Barcelona's Lionel Messi at Camp Nou (63) and Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski at the Allianz Arena (59) can better Salah's 52 strikes at Anfield since he arrived from Roma three years ago.

However, the 4-0 trouncing of Nuno Espirito Santo's men was not enough for Liverpool to rise to the top of the rankings, with Tottenham Hotspur still leading the way after their North London derby win.
