Liverpool 'will allow Alisson to miss games after father's death'

Liverpool are reportedly prepared to allow Alisson Becker to fly home to his native Brazil, if he wishes, after the sudden and tragic death of his father.

Liverpool are reportedly willing to let Alisson Becker miss their upcoming matches following the sudden death of his father.

Jose Becker, 57, lost his life after a swimming accident at his home in Brazil, with Liverpool confirming the news in a statement on Thursday afternoon.

The Reds' manager Jurgen Klopp has also had to deal with the passing of his mother recently and was unable to attend her funeral in Germany, with The Mirror now reporting that he has spoken to Alisson and offered his support.

The report adds that the shot-stopper will be allowed to travel back to Brazil to be with his family if he wishes, and Liverpool are not planning to rush him back into action before he is ready.

Should Alisson travel back to his homeland during this tragic time, he would likely have to undergo a 10-day quarantine period upon arrival back in the UK due to coronavirus travel protocols.

The former Roma man has already made 21 Premier League starts for the reigning champions this term, keeping five clean sheets.
