Sunday's Liverpool transfer talk news roundup: Kylian Mbappe, Rhian Brewster, Diogo Jota

Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Liverpool on Sunday, September 27.

The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Liverpool eye possible reinforcements.

Jurgen Klopp's champions have not been particularly busy during recent windows, but that has not stopped the rumour mill from linking them with additions.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Anfield.

Sunday morning's Liverpool transfer talk news roundup:

Jurgen Klopp 'was convinced Liverpool would sign Ousmane Dembele'

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was reportedly "convinced" that his club would complete a loan deal for Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele during this summer's transfer window.

The France international's future has been the subject of much speculation over the last few months, but he looks set to spend at least another season at Camp Nou.

Liverpool allegedly made contact with Barca over the possibility of taking the 2018 World Cup winner on loan for the 2020-21 campaign, with the deal potentially including a future permanent transfer.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Klopp was "convinced" that the Premier League champions would agree a loan switch with the Catalan giants.

However, Dembele made it clear that he is not interested in a move away from Ronald Koeman's side.

The 23-year-old has not played a competitive match since last November due to hamstring issues, while he only made five La Liga appearances during the 2019-20 campaign.

Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in his services this summer.

Liverpool, Real Madrid target Kylian Mbappe 'could be available for £91m next summer'

Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe could reportedly be available for £91m next summer.

The 21-year-old, who is widely regarded as the outstanding young player in world football, has scored 91 times and registered 51 assists in 125 outings for PSG in all competitions.

The France international's current deal is due to expire in June 2022, though, and both Real Madrid and Liverpool are said to be closely monitoring developments surrounding his future.

A recent report claimed that Liverpool are in regular contact with the 2018 World Cup winner, who has scored 14 times in 35 outings for his national team.

According to L'Equipe, should Mbappe fail to agree an extension with PSG before next summer then his price could drop to £91m as the French giants would face losing him for nothing the following year.

The forward is already off the mark in terms of goals for the 2020-21 campaign, having found the back of the net in his team's 3-0 victory away to Nice in Ligue 1 last weekend.
