Claudio Ranieri: 'Gokhan Inler happy at Leicester City'

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri insists that midfielder Gokhan Inler is happy at the club, despite a lack of playing time following his summer move from Napoli.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has insisted that midfielder Gokhan Inler is happy at the club, despite a lack of playing time.

The 31-year-old moved to the King Power Stadium from Napoli in the summer, but has made just three Premier League appearances so far this season.

The Foxes are currently second in the Premier League, having taken 29 points from their opening 14 matches, and Ranieri suggests that he cannot make changes to the starting XI with his side in good form.

"He's happy," Ranieri is quoted as saying by the Leicester Mercury. "Of course, I don't want players who are on the bench who are happy – they're crazy.

"But he understands the team is going very well. Why [do] I have to change? Yes, I am Tinkerman, but I am not stupid."

Switzerland captain Inler has made 89 international appearances, scoring seven goals.
