Injured defender Jack Grimmer closing in on Fulham return

Jack Grimmer admits that his absence from the Fulham first team has felt like "a long time", as he closes in on a December return.

Fulham defender Jack Grimmer has targeted a return to full fitness within the next fortnight following his three-month layoff.

The 21-year-old picked up an ankle injury against Wycombe Wanderers in the League Cup just a week into the new season.

Having been forced to watch on from the sidelines so far this term, Grimmer is now hoping to make up for lost time as he enters the final stretch of his rehabilitation.

"It's been a long time," he is quoted as saying by Get West London. "I feel as if my season hasn't started as I injured my ankle in the first cup game of the season.

"Rehab has been going well. I'm doing my work with the physios. I'm hoping to be fit again in the next couple of weeks."

Grimmer joined Fulham from Aberdeen in January 2014, making 17 senior appearances for the club in all competitions since.
