UEFA confirms Euro 2016 will remain in France following Paris terrorist attacks

UEFA confirms that next summer's European Championships will still be held in France, despite security concerns following the terrorist attacks in Paris.

UEFA has announced that next summer's European Championships will still be held in France, despite security concerns following last week's terrorist attacks in Paris.

Police have confirmed that 129 people died when terrorists struck six separate locations, including the Stade de France, in the French capital on Friday.

Due to the tragedy, there have been questions over the safety of having the major football tournament in Paris, but UEFA has insisted that the event will go ahead in France.

In a statement, the governing body stated that it has been working closely with the organising committee for three years and is "confident that the necessary measures will be taken to ensure that is the case for all involved".

The draw for the tournament will go ahead as planned on December 12 in Paris.
