Preview: Fleetwood Town vs. Burton Albion - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Tuesday's League One clash between Fleetwood Town and Burton Albion, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Fleetwood Town will welcome Burton Albion to Highbury Stadium on Tuesday, and the hosts will enter the fixture in 19th place in the League One table.

Burton Albion are currently in eighth position and sit just outside the playoffs on goal difference, after accumulating 19 points this term.

Fleetwood sit just two points above the relegation zone, but they have only lost once in their last eight league fixtures.

The Cod Army ended a four-game winless league run on Saturday, when goals from Callum Johnson, Danny Andrew and Gerard Garner guided Fleetwood to a 3-0 win over Crewe Alexandra.

Simon Grayson would have been pleased that his side clinched their first clean sheet of the League One season on Saturday.

Fleetwood have collected three draws in their six away games this season and they will be looking to convert more of those draws into victories, having only won once on their travels in League One this season.

Grayson can take confidence from the fact that Fleetwood have won their last four home meetings with Burton Albion.

Burton Albion have enjoyed a positive campaign, and they will be looking for a win that could take them into the playoff places.

The Brewers enter Tuesday's fixture in promising form, after only suffering one defeat in their last four games, and in that period, they have collected seven points.

In their last outing, they managed to beat Morecambe 3-2, courtesy of a brace from Thomas O'Connor and a goal from Conor Shaughnessy.

O'Connor has been important for The Brewers this season scoring three goals, while Lucas Akins has also netted on three occasions, and both O'Connor and Akins will be important players for the away side on Tuesday.

Burton will look to collect their second away league victory of the season, and their away form will need to improve if The Brewers are to trouble the playoff places.

Team News

Garner scored his fifth goal of the season on Saturday, and he will continue in the forward line against Burton.

After an impressive performance at the weekend, Grayson is likely to name the same starting lineup.

Burton saw Michael Mancienne return from injury to start the game against Morecambe, and the 33-year-old will keep his place in the side for Tuesday.

Danny Rowe could return to the Burton squad after an injury layoff, but he may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Daniel Jebbison is likely to keep his place in the side, leading the line on Tuesday.

Fleetwood Town possible starting lineup:
Cairns; Johnson, Hill, Andrew; Biggins, Batty, Camps, Clark, Matete; Garner, Edmondson

Burton Albion possible starting lineup:
Garratt; Hamer, Shaughnessy, Oshilaja, Borthwick-Jackson; Mancienne, O'Connor, Chapman; Smith, Akins, Jebbison

We say: Fleetwood Town 3-1 Burton Albion

Fleetwood usually perform well on home turf against Burton, and we think that trend will continue on Tuesday night, especially after they boosted their confidence with an impressive win against Crewe in their last outing.
