Thiago Silva reveals that he would like to see Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar complete a transfer to Chelsea this summer.

Thiago Silva has revealed that he would like to see Chelsea sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar this summer.

Earlier this month, it was claimed that the Ligue 1 champions are open to cashing in on the Brazil international during the current transfer window.

Despite retaining the status as the world's most expensive player, the 30-year-old is said to no longer be regarded as a key asset at Parc des Princes.

With three years still remaining on his contract and the fact that he commands a lucrative wage at PSG, moving to a new club will be far from a formality.

Nevertheless, a report has claimed that each of Juventus and Chelsea are interested in wrapping up a deal for the playmaker over the coming weeks.

From Chelsea's perspective, they can offer Neymar the chance of a reunion with a couple of familiar faces, including head coach Thomas Tuchel who worked with the player during his time in the French capital.

However, Neymar has a closer relationship with Silva, the pair having been teammates at PSG as well as on the international stage for 12 years.

Silva has been quizzed on the prospect of Neymar making the switch to Stamford Bridge while spending time in Brazil, the centre-back acknowledging that he would be delighted if he was joined at the club by his compatriot.

Speaking at a sponsors event, as quoted by JC, Silva said: "He has to go to Chelsea. If it happens, it will be for the best.

"He needs no comment. So far, I don't know anything, but I hope it comes to fruition."

Chelsea attempted to sign Neymar under their previous ownership when he was still a teenager, only for the then prospect to remain at Santos.

The next phase of Neymar's career could be dependent on whether incoming boss Christophe Galtier shares the same opinion as the one allegedly held by his next bosses.

Although he contributed 13 goals and six assists in 22 Ligue 1 appearances last season, that represented his most active domestic campaign in five years.

Including Neymar, PSG are said to be willing to part ways with as many as 11 players before the end of August.
