Chelsea have reportedly been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Ben Chilwell as Leicester City may have to lower their record valuation for the left-back.

Leicester City may reportedly be forced to lower their asking price for Ben Chilwell as the full-back is pushing for a move to Chelsea.

England international Chilwell is rumoured to be the Blues' next priority target after all-but agreeing a deal for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.

With Manchester City also rumoured to be interested, Leicester were said to be holding out for a record fee for the left-sided defender, having previously played hardball over Harry Maguire's £80m move to Manchester United last summer.

However, the Evening Standard claims that Chelsea have been handed a major boost as Chilwell is eager to join the Blues, which has given them some extra bargaining power.

It is suggested that Leicester may now instead accept a bid in the region of £50m for the 23-year-old, with replacements - including Southampton's Ryan Bertrand - already being lined up.

Chelsea return to Premier League action on June 21 with a trip to Aston Villa, while City take on Watford at Vicarage Road a day before.
