Belgium boss Roberto Martinez suggests that it could be the right time for Chelsea winger Eden Hazard to take on a new challenge.

Belgium boss Roberto Martinez has suggested that this summer may be the right time for Eden Hazard to leave Chelsea.

Reports have frequently linked Hazard with a future move to Real Madrid, and the winger has indicated that he is open to taking on a new challenge after six years with Chelsea.

Hazard has just two years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge and after starring for his country at the World Cup, Martinez has hinted that he would be in favour of the attacker moving elsewhere before the start of the new campaign.

Martinez told radio show El Larguero: "It could be the best time to try something different.

"He is a player who has maturity and a lot of leadership. His play is based on talent. Hazard could carry a new project anywhere in the world. He is at the best moment of his career.

"For me, it's very easy to answer that question. He could fit in any team in the world. Players need new challenges and new projects. Perhaps it's a good time for Chelsea and for Eden [to split]. I would be very surprised if Chelsea didn't have big offers for him right now."

Chelsea reportedly intend to reject any offers for Hazard over the coming weeks.
