Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte insists that not all the rumours regarding his potential dealings in January are true.

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has acknowledged that he would like to improve his squad in January, but insists that not all rumours involving players are true.

Having missed out on targets during the summer, Conte has been linked with various names ahead of the start of 2018, while the likes of David Luiz and Michy Batshuayi have been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Conte has acknowledged that he will look to add the right player to his group, but insists that supporters should not pay too much attention to speculation in the media.

The 48-year-old told reporters: "A difficult period is starting for every player and coach. There are a lot of rumours in this period. Some are true, while some are wrong.

"We must be ready to face this situation. I think the best way for me is don't read and only to chat with the club. Then we'd like to try and improve the squad if this is possible.

"There are a lot of rumours now and we must be ready to face these. We must also be ready to be focused and play game by game. We have to play every three days and we can't let these rumours disturb us."

Chelsea currently sit in third place in the Premier League table ahead of their game at Everton on Saturday.
