Chelsea plan to hold discussions with Mason Mount over a new contract at Stamford Bridge, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly planning to hold discussions with Mason Mount over a new contract.

The 22-year-old has found it difficult to show his best form for the Blues in the early stages of the 2021-22 campaign, but he enjoyed easily his most productive match of the season against Norwich City on Saturday, scoring three times and providing an assist in a 7-0 victory.

Mount still has three years left to run on his contract at Stamford Bridge, but according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are planning to open discussions with the England international over a fresh deal.

Romano claims that the attacker is viewed as "untouchable" at the club, and he is in the "renewals list" with a number of other players, including Antonio Rudiger.

Mount has been with Chelsea since 2005, progressing through the youth system before making his competitive debut for the club in August 2019 after successful loan spells at Vitesse and Derby County.

The playmaker, who is also now a key player for the English national team, has scored 20 goals and registered 17 assists in 118 appearances for the Blues.
