Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Liverpool

Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday's Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

Chelsea are gearing up for a mammoth showdown in the Premier League as they travel to the home of reigning champions Liverpool on Thursday evening.

Thomas Tuchel's unbeaten start to life in the Stamford Bridge hotseat continued at the weekend as they held Manchester United to a 0-0 draw - the German's ninth game without defeat since taking over.

Tuchel has propelled Chelsea back into top four contention over the past few weeks, and they now sit just one point behind fourth-placed West Ham United ahead of their trip to Anfield.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday's game.


Thiago Silva

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: March 8 (vs. Everton)

Thiago Silva has missed Chelsea's last four Premier League matches with a thigh injury and was not ready to make his comeback against Man United. Tuchel has revealed that the experienced defender is doing individual work on the training pitches and should return to team training this week, but the Liverpool game will come too soon for him.


Callum Hudson-Odoi

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: March 4 (vs. Liverpool)

Callum Hudson-Odoi - who was involved in a controversial penalty incident on Sunday - was hauled off at half time against United and was subsequently seen icing his knee on the sidelines. Tuchel affirmed that the youngster's injury was "little" and there was also a tactical element to his substitution, so he might be fine for this game.


Tammy Abraham

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: March 4 (vs. Liverpool)

Tammy Abraham was left out entirely against Man United, and Tuchel has since revealed that the forward has been experiencing problems with his ankle, so he is a major doubt for this match too.


CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Chelsea have no players suspended for Thursday's trip to Anfield.
