Steven Defour: 'Chelsea cannot block Eden Hazard exit'

Steven Defour expects former Belgium international teammate Eden Hazard to join Real Madrid from Chelsea.

Burnley midfielder Steven Defour has tipped Eden Hazard to fulfil his 'dream' by leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid in the future.

Hazard has openly confessed that he would struggle to say no to the European champions should they come calling.

The 27-year-old has been in stellar form for Chelsea this season, scoring and assisting a combined 10 goals in the Premier League.

Former Belgium international teammate Defour, however, believes that there is only so much the Blues can do to prevent the ex-Lille ace from joining Madrid.

"The Premier League is still the best competition in the world," he told reporters. "But if you are talking club-wise, Real Madrid and Barcelona are above the Premier League.

"As a player, you want to play at the highest level. The highest level is the Premier League, but the highest clubs at this moment are Barcelona and Real Madrid.

"It is still a personal choice. If you are an English player playing for a top club in England, that might be good for you. Since Eden was a little boy, he has dreamed about playing for Real Madrid and at some point when you get the opportunity you might take it."

Defour missed out on a meeting with Hazard on Sunday afternoon as the Chelsea forward sat out the clash with Burnley through injury.
