Eddie Howe's Burnley score three goals to claim the victory over Ian Holloway's Blackpool.

Burnley claimed the Lancashire bragging rights with a 3-1 victory over Blackpool at Turf Moor this evening.

Eddie Howe's men started the match brightly and broke the deadlock through the club's leading goalscorer Charlie Austin after 19 minutes. Former West Ham United winger Junior Stanislas provided the cross and Austin was on hand to head in from close range.

Blackpool defender Stephen Crainey was cautioned for a handball on the edge of the area in the 28th minute and his error of judgement was punished from the resultant free-kick. Ross Wallace stepped up to curl an effort past a static Matthew Gilks in goal.

The visiting Tangerines created numerous chances after the restart, but they were unable to breach the home side's net.

Burnley put the match beyond the reach of Ian Holloway's side 11 minutes from time when Marvin Bartley converted Austin's cut-back to claim his first goal for the Clarets in the process.

There was time for Blackpool to claim a consolation, with Jonjo Shelvey scoring from the edge of the area in stoppage time.
