Saturday's Championship predictions including Bournemouth vs. Watford

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Saturday's Championship fixtures, including Bournemouth vs. Watford.

Watford will be aiming to maintain the pressure on second-placed Brentford when they travel to Bournemouth in the Championship on Saturday.

The Hornets are third, only behind the Bees on goal difference, while the Cherries have slipped out of the top six and now sit seventh.

We say: Bournemouth 1-2 Watford

Watford are certainly the side with the momentum, but Bournemouth will be looking for a reaction to their latest two defeats, and it could be a tight game; we fancy the Hornets to take all three points, though, as their assault on the top two continues.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Barnsley vs. Millwall (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Barnsley play host to Millwall on Saturday afternoon looking to record their fifth successive win in the Championship, a result which could take the Tykes into the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the visitors make the trip to Oakwell on the back of nine matches without defeat, keeping the Lions in the race for the top six.

We say: Barnsley 2-1 Millwall

With both teams putting together their best form of the season, we expect a fiercely-competitive encounter in Yorkshire. However, sensing an opportunity to break into the playoffs, the home side could show the extra ambition required to collect all three points.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Birmingham vs. QPR (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Queens Park Rangers face Birmingham City at St Andrew's on Saturday afternoon having put together a five-match unbeaten streak in the Championship.

While the visitors now sit 11 points above the relegation zone, Blues are only two points above the bottom three after a sustained period of poor form under Aitor Karanka.

We say: Birmingham City 1-1 Queens Park Rangers

Sitting well clear of safety, QPR will play with a sense of freedom against opponents who possess little confidence in the final third. However, the extra edge may suit Birmingham, and we feel that the home side will do enough to claim a share of the spoils.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Blackburn vs. Coventry (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Blackburn Rovers will be looking to put a stop to their horrendous run of form when they host Coventry City in the Championship on Saturday.

Rovers have lost their last five games and are now 15th in the table, while the Sky Blues have also found wins hard to come by of late and sit 20th.

We say: Blackburn Rovers 1-1 Coventry City

Coventry should still be in good spirits despite their midweek loss, while Blackburn's confidence appears to be at rock bottom; if the Sky Blues can overcome their away day issues then they are surely the favourites, but we think that Rovers might snatch a point.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Brentford vs. Stoke (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Championship title contenders Brentford play host to Stoke City on Saturday afternoon having ended their three-match losing streak against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.

Meanwhile, after defeat at Barnsley, the Potters head into this contest sitting four points adrift of the playoff places.

We say: Brentford 3-1 Stoke City

Sensing that there is still tiredness in the Brentford ranks, O'Neill will instruct his players to make this a physical game. Nevertheless, we still expect the Bees to come through with maximum points as they bid to keep pace with their promotion rivals.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Luton vs. Sheff Weds (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Sheffield Wednesday caretaker manager Neil Thompson pictured in February 2021© Reuters

Sheffield Wednesday's next mission on their quest for Championship survival is a trip to an out-of-form Luton Town side on Saturday afternoon.

The Owls are 23rd in the table and three points adrift of safety, while the Hatters are nine points above the relegation zone in 17th – their lowest position of the season so far.

We say: Luton Town 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday

These are two sides struggling for both form and goals, suggesting this could be a low-scoring and tense affair. Wednesday need the points more, though, and we think that the Owls will just about edge the game.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Middlesbrough vs. Cardiff (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Cardiff City manager Mick McCarthy pictured on February 16, 2021© Reuters

Cardiff City will be looking to make it seven straight Championship victories when they travel to the Riverside Stadium on Saturday afternoon to face Middlesbrough.

The Welsh club will enter the contest off the back of a 2-1 win at Bournemouth on Wednesday, while Boro suffered a disappointing 3-1 home loss to Bristol City on Tuesday.

We say: Middlesbrough 1-1 Cardiff City

Boro will be desperate to bounce back from the disappointment of the defeat to Bristol City, and we can see Warnock's side stopping Cardiff's winning run. There are only three points between these two sides in the Championship table, and we are expecting a well-matched contest this weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Preston vs. Huddersfield (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Preston North End welcome Huddersfield Town to Deepdale on Saturday afternoon looking for their first Championship win in four matches.

The Terriers, who sit four points adrift of their 14th-placed opponents, have prevailed in just one of their most recent 10 fixtures in the second tier.

We say: Preston North End 0-0 Huddersfield Town

With neither side firing on all cylinders, this is not one of the most attractive fixtures this weekend. A lack of confidence could contribute to a goalless draw being played out, a result which would suit the visitors rather than the home team.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Rotherham vs. Reading (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Reading's Yakou Meite celebrates scoring against Rotherham United in the Championship on October 24, 2020© Reuters

Reading will be aiming to get their Championship playoff bid back on track when they travel to Rotherham United on Saturday.

The Royals are still fifth in the table, but a poor run of form means that they are now just two points ahead of seventh, while the Millers are in trouble at the other end of the table in 22nd.

We say: Rotherham United 0-2 Reading

Both teams will be looking at this fixture as the perfect time to play each other, and we could see a competitive game at the New York Stadium. If Paunovic is able to get a reaction from his players after Tuesday night, Reading should get the better of a tired Rotherham side.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Swansea vs. Bristol City (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Swansea City manager Steve Cooper pictured in February 2021© Reuters

Nigel Pearson will take charge of his first game as Bristol City manager on Saturday, when his side travel to the Liberty Stadium to take on Swansea City.

The new manager watched from the stands as the Robins beat Middlesbrough 3-1 away from home on Tuesday, while Swansea also recorded a win in the week, defeating Coventry 1-0 at home.

We say: Swansea City 1-1 Bristol City

With Bristol City bound to have some newly-found confidence, as is so often the case with a new manager, we can see them proving a very tough test for Swansea in this game.

Their dangerous attack will be a good match for the Swans' defensive line, while Hourihane could continue his good run of scoring at the other end, seeing the sides share the points at the Liberty Stadium.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.
