Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi suggests that he is still interested in signing Barcelona forward Lionel Messi on a free transfer.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has seemingly not given up hope of signing Barcelona forward Lionel Messi.

Despite having the opportunity to depart the Catalan outfit, reports have suggested that Messi is now happy to sign fresh terms at Camp Nou.

However, with an agreement yet to be made official, speculation will persist regarding a surprise exit for the legendary Argentine.

PSG are one of a number of clubs who have been linked with the attacker, and Al-Khelaifi has acknowledged that he is an admirer of the player.

Speaking to L'Equipe, Al-Khelaifi said: "What I can say is that all the great players want to come to PSG.

"It isn't possible to sign them all, because we already have great footballers in our squad. Having said that, Messi is Messi, a fantastic player."

Al-Khelaifi's comments have been made at a time when he has also insisted that Kylian Mbappe will not be allowed to leave Parc des Princes this summer.
