Experienced midfielder Ivan Rakitic says that he wants "clarity" from Barcelona when it comes to his future.

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has said that he wants "clarity" from the Spanish champions when it comes to his future.

The Croatia international's current deal at Camp Nou is due to expire next summer, and there has been a host of speculation in recent months surrounding a potential exit.

Rakitic has made 31 appearances for Quique Setien's side this season but has only started 10 La Liga matches.

The 2018 World Cup finalist has insisted that he is "not angry" with the situation, although the midfielder is keen to hold direct talks with the Catalan giants over his future.

"I'm not angry with anyone, I still have a great relationship with everyone at the club and I'm incredibly grateful for the time so far at Barca," he told Sport1.

"It's just that after the long time I've been here, people talk to me openly about everything. I want clarity in which direction it is going. I now feel that we want to take a common path.

"I have no problem with the fact that there have been many headlines around my name in recent years. I am always open to discussions with those responsible and prefer it to being told about it through third parties. I am still very happy at Barca. My wife also feels very comfortable in Barcelona."

Inter Milan, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have all previously been linked with the Croatian.
