Barcelona's Pedri ruled out of Copa del Rey semi-final second leg

Barcelona starlet Pedri will play no part in Wednesday's Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Sevilla following an injury against the same opponent on Saturday.

Barcelona youngster Pedri will play no part in Wednesday's Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Sevilla.

The 18-year-old, who has become a regular starter under Ronald Koeman this term, had to come off injured against Julen Lopetegui's side in Saturday's La Liga win.

Pedri was replaced by fellow teenager Ilaix Moriba on the 71-minute mark, and Barcelona have now confirmed that the Spaniard has sustained a calf problem.

The club did not put a timeframe on Pedri's return to action, but he is certain to miss out Wednesday's clash with Sevilla, against whom Barcelona avenged their first-leg 2-0 defeat with a win by the same scoreline in Saturday's league fixture.

The midfielder joins the likes of Ansu Fati, Philippe Coutinho and Sergi Roberto on the sidelines, and it remains to be seen if he will be available for the Champions League last-16 second leg against Paris Saint-Germain on March 10.

Pedri has made 37 appearances - including 17 La Liga starts - across all competitions for the Blaugrana this term, registering three goals and four assists.
