Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly plan to complete permanent deals for loan stars Diogo Jota and Leo Bonatini in January.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly decided to complete permanent deals for both Diogo Jota and Leo Bonatini during the January transfer window.

Ahead of the start of the season, both players arrived at Molineux from Atletico Madrid and Al-Hilal respectively, and have since gone on to become the club's star men of the campaign.

Jota has contributed nine goals and four assists from 20 starts in the Championship, while top goalscorer Bonatini has 12 strikes and five assists to his name.

According to the Express & Star, their form has led to both Nuno Espirito Santo and Fosun International being keen to tie up long-term deals for the pair at the start of 2018, business which could cost the West Midlands outfit somewhere in the region of £15m and £20m.

While Wolves have FFP commitments lurking in the background, promotion to the Premier League would mean that a spending spree in January is essentially irrelevant and the club intend to do everything possible to maintain their strong position at the top of the standings.

Wolves are also keen to sign a new forward, with Watford's Stefano Okaka the latest frontman to be linked with a mid-season switch, while Joao Carvalho could also arrive from Benfica.
