Mikel Arteta reveals Arsenal transfer plans

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta hints that the Gunners will be busy during an "unpredictable" January transfer window after a slow start to the 2020-21 Premier League season.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has affirmed that he is working closely with technical director Edu as the duo prepare for an "unpredictable" January transfer market.

The Gunners are currently in their worst-ever position in the Premier League after 10 matches, and Arsenal have been linked with a number of players to address their creativity problems.

Lyon's Houssem Aouar and Red Bull Salzburg's Dominik Szoboszlai have been strongly linked with moves to North London, while Inter Milan's Christian Eriksen and Norwich City's Emiliano Buendia have also been mentioned as potential winter signings.

When asked about possible comings and goings next month during a press conference, Arteta said: "We are planning, talking with Edu and with the club about the things we can do in January.

"But at the moment it's pretty difficult, unpredictable as well in terms of places we are very restricted in the moment.

"We'll see what happens, I think things will move in the market, we will be prepared, we will need to do something knowing the limitations of that market in January and the limitations we have as well to sign players."

Arsenal will be looking to maintain their 100% record in the Europa League against Rapid Vienna on Thursday evening, but Arteta's men head into the game following a lowly defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers - their third top-flight loss in a row at home.
