Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly among 16 clubs interested in signing Real Valladolid's Spanish right-back Ivan Fresneda.

Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly among 16 clubs across Europe who are interested in signing Real Valladolid defender Ivan Fresneda.

The right-back made his La Liga debut earlier this season and has featured seven times across the campaign so far.

According to Spanish media outlet AS, there is a 'frantic race' to sign the youngster, with Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Brentford, Everton, Fulham, Leeds United, Newcastle United, Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers all interested in signing the teenager.

Furthermore, Italian clubs AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus and Roma also said to be keen, in addition to Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spain and Rennes in Ligue 1.

The report also states that his current release clause is €30m (£26m), but that figure is set to rise to €45m (£39m) after he reaches 22 appearances for the club, prompting interested parties to move in January before his price inevitably rises.

Arsenal recruited Japan international Takehiro Tomiyasu this summer at right-back, with Ben White often the starting choice for Mikel Arteta, whilst Liverpool signed young Scottish right-back Calvin Ramsay this summer which could raise doubts over a potential move.
