Jamie Redknapp: 'Olivier Giroud could struggle to get back into Arsenal team'

Jamie Redknapp believes that Olivier Giroud may struggle to work his way back into the Arsenal team due to their current attacking threat.

Jamie Redknapp has expressed his belief that Arsenal's attacking line may keep Olivier Giroud out of the team when the striker returns from a broken foot.

The Frenchman has been out of action since August, but could return before the New Year after manager Arsene Wenger revealed last week that the forward is "miles ahead" of schedule.

However, Redknapp believes that Giroud may struggle to get his place back due to the threat of Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott.

"With Walcott back, Giroud might end up with Andy Carroll syndrome - how on earth does he get back in the team?" Redknapp wrote in the Daily Mail.

"A frontline of Welbeck, Walcott and Sanchez spells speed and goals, but I'm sure Arsene Wenger would rather have him in his squad than not.

"Whoever they go for it's great news for Arsenal fans - they deserve to have great, exciting players like Sanchez to watch."

Sanchez netted twice in the Gunners' 3-0 win over Burnley at the weekend.
