AC Milan sack Sinisa Mihajlovic, appoint Cristian Brocchi

Sinisa Mihajlovic loses his job as the head coach of AC Milan, who have since appointed Cristian Brocchi on a deal until the end of the season.

AC Milan have confirmed that Sinisa Mihajlovic has been relieved of his duties as head coach less than 12 months after he was appointed to the position.

The 47-year-old has ultimately paid the price for a run of five matches without a victory, which has left the Rossoneri sixth in Serie A.

"The club would like to thank Mihajlovic for the dedication and hard work carried out this season," read a statement on the club's official website.

In a swift turnaround, Milan have added that Cristian Brocchi will take charge of the first team for the remainder of the season.

The 40-year-old, who made over 100 appearances for Milan during his playing career, has recently coached the club's reserve side.
