Producers of Love Island are reportedly looking to cast a contestant with a visible physical disability this year.

The new series of Love Island will reportedly feature the show's first physically-disabled contestant.

Producers are said to be determined to introduce different types of contestants this year and have encouraged people of all sexualities and genders to apply for the show.

According to The Sun, producers have also approached a number of influencers with a visible physical disability, including para-athlete Milly Pickles.

"It's all part of the show trying to be as diverse as possible," a source told the newspaper.

"The final lineup hasn't been sorted yet but it would be ideal if they had at least one disabled islander."

The new series is expected to begin on ITV2 on Monday, June 28.
