Max Parker quits Emmerdale after two years of playing chef Luke Posner.

Max Parker has quit his role as Luke Posner on Emmerdale after two years, it has been revealed.

The actor is thought to have already filmed his final scenes, which will be shown at some point in the coming weeks.

In recent episodes viewers have seen Luke reveal that he may have had some part in his brother Lee's death - a secret that his mother Wendy (Susan Cookson) will be unable to keep.

Talking about Parker's exit, a source told The Sun: "Max was never going to stay on the soap for years.

"He's ambitious and a talented guy - he's already auditioning for new roles and excited for the future.

"But never say never - there's always a chance he could return one day."

The revelation about Lee's death has sparked speculation that Robert (Ryan Hawley) - currently in jail for his murder - could make a return to the Dales in the near future.
