LadBaby break The Beatles' long-standing record by securing a fifth Christmas number one single.

LadBaby have secured a record fifth Christmas number one single with their charity track 'Food Aid'.

The duo have now hit the top spot every year since 2018 and have broken The Beatles' long-standing record of achieving four number one Christmas singles.

'Food Aid', which featured money-saving expert Martin Lewis, registered more than 65,000 chart sales over the last week, edging out the Wham! classic 'Last Christmas' in second.

"I can't quite believe it! We're Number 1! The charity has made it five years in a row. How have we done this again?" LadBaby told the Official Charts website.

"We want to say thank you to everyone who has supported us for the last five years. A massive apology to The Beatles, and to all The Beatles' fans... I'm sorry! The charity wins. The Trussell Trust gets Christmas Number 1 again!

"Thank you to all the people who have downloaded, all the people who believed in us and brought a bit of Christmas magic. We love you all. Yes mate!"

On the albums chart, Taylor Swift claims Christmas number one with Midnights, edging Cliff Richard and his festive LP Christmas With Cliff.
