The Walking Dead moves to Disney+ for final season

The Walking Dead moves to Disney+ for final season
Disney+ will become the exclusive home of The Walking Dead in the UK.

The final season of The Walking Dead is to be released weekly on Disney+ in the UK, it has been confirmed.

The move comes after Disney announced that Fox, which had the lifetime rights to the show, will be closing in the UK at the end of June.

Most programming that currently airs on Fox will make the move to Disney+ - including all 10 past seasons of The Walking Dead, which will be available through the Star channel from July 2.

The 11th and final season - due to be released in two parts - will premiere in the US on August 22 and is expected to be released the next day on Disney+ in the UK.

The streaming service has also picked up the rights to the War of the Worlds TV series, with season one joining on May 28 followed by the premiere of season two in July.
