Matt Lucas and Elis James are announced as the new hosts of Fantasy Football League, which is being resurrected by Sky after 18 years off the air.

Comedians Matt Lucas and Elis James are to host a resurrected Fantasy Football League on Sky, it has been announced.

The comedy football show was originally hosted by David Baddiel and Frank Skinner, first on the BBC and then on ITV, airing its final series during Euro 2004.

A pilot with Lucas and James was filmed earlier this month and now Sky have decided to air a full, 16-episode series for broadcast this autumn.

Lucas, who also hosts Channel 4's The Great British Bake-Off, said: "I loved watching Fantasy Football League with Frank, David and Statto and am chuffed to bits to be a part of this new incarnation.

"I now make a living eating cake and watching football. I must be the luckiest man in the world.

"I also get to share the sofa with Elis, who is not only hilarious but the biggest football geek I've ever met. See you next season."

The show will air on Sky Max and NOW.
