Andrew Neil confirms that his Channel 4 political show has been axed after three series due to budgetary reasons.

Andrew Neil has revealed that his political show for Channel 4 has been axed after three series due to budgetary reasons.

The veteran broadcaster - formerly of the BBC and GB News - returned to the airwaves in May 2022 with a weekly show, The Andrew Neil Show, which featured interviews with top politicians and a review of the week's events.

The programme returned later in 2022 with Ed Balls and George Osborne as regular panellists, with a third - and now final - series airing in spring 2023.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4, Neil said: "I did three seasons with Channel 4.

"It worked well, they liked it, it did well but like a lot of media organisations these days, they said to me quite bluntly, 'we've got no money. We haven't got any money'."

Neil now presents a weekday lunchtime show on Times Radio.
