Sports presenter Clare Balding is the next name to have supposedly signed up for the upcoming celebrity edition of The Traitors.

Clare Balding has reportedly agreed to participate in the upcoming celebrity version of The Traitors.

The duplicitous reality show - hosted by Claudia Winkleman - has been a bona fide ratings hit for the BBC to date, with the second series peaking with more than 8 million viewers earlier this year.

A third series of the regular version has already been filmed for broadcast in 2025, while a spinoff edition with famous faces as the participants is due to be recorded in the coming months.

The show's popularity with celebs has led to some impressive names being linked with taking part, including national treasure Stephen Fry and Olympic hero Tom Daley, and now The Sun says that sports presenter Balding is the next to sign up.

"Clare is an absolutely brilliant signing because she's always turned down reality offers flat," a source told the newspaper. "As such, this will offer the first real glimpse into what she's like as a person.

"She's known to generations of TV viewers from fronting everything from racing and the Olympics through to Crufts and occasionally Countryfile.

"And could anyone really believe that the Beeb's dependable, sensible face of sport could be a treacherous liar?"

The celeb edition of the show is likely to air on BBC One in the second half of next year.
