Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are said to be close to signing new two-year deals to remain as hosts of Strictly Come Dancing.

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are said to be close to signing new two-year deals to remain as hosts of Strictly Come Dancing.

The pair are currently out of contract following the most recent series - won by comedian Chris McCausland last month - after what was a tumultuous year for the show, which hit the headlines for alleged misconduct backstage.

Daly and Winkleman were never likely to leave the show, but nevertheless The Sun says that the BBC has offered them "enhanced" deals to stay on board for 2025 and 2026.

A source said: "This isn't just a sign of the faith that the BBC has in the presenting duo, it also signals the commitment the corporation has to the show itself.

"They're looking to the future after the past 12 months which have been dogged by claims of misbehaviour behind the scenes by pros Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima.

"Now bosses want to draw a line under this troubled chapter in Strictly's history and focus on the positives - which includes having two women fronting the biggest show on TV, which is something the BBC are very proud of."

The future of the judging panel - currently comprising Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Craig Revel Horwood - remains unknown at present.
