Craig Revel Horwood: 'BBC working extremely hard on Strictly'

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood says that the BBC are "working extremely hard" to get the show on air this autumn.

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has insisted that producers are doing everything they can to get the show on air as usual later this year.

The ballroom dance competition is the jewel in the crown of BBC One's autumn schedules but is under threat this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Producers are considering new ways of adapting the format to ensure that social distancing guidelines can be adhered to, however, including scrapping live audiences and operating with a minimal set.

"I've spoken to the producers and they're working through absolutely everything to make it happen. I know, fingers crossed, it will," Horwood told The Steph Show

"There is some way around it, there has to be. People love the show, it's great entertainment.

"We really want it back and I know BBC One are working extremely hard to make that happen for the audience."

Among the names linked with this year's show are actress Michelle Keegan, pop star Cheryl, legendary drag queen RuPaul Charles and Radio 1 DJ Maya Jama.
