Max George says that Tom Parker is "doing amazingly well" in his battle against a brain tumour.

Max George has said that his former The Wanted bandmate Tom Parker is "doing amazingly well" in his battle with a brain tumour.

Parker, 33, was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma - a terminal condition - last summer and has since been receiving treatment to prolong his life.

Earlier this year Parker shared the promising news that his cancer has shrunk as a result of the treatment and he is now back at work, throwing a charity gig for a new Channel 4 documentary.

"It was a massive shock," George told Good Morning Britain. "Honestly he's doing amazingly well. Tom is a different breed of animal and he's tackling it with everything.

"He's just set up a concert at Royal Albert Hall called Inside My Head for Stand Up To Cancer. I'll be sitting front row there."

The documentary is due to air later this year.
