Danny Jones says that he 'deeply apologises' to wife Georgia Horsley after his alleged 'kiss' with Maura Higgins.

Danny Jones has said that he is "deeply" sorry to wife Georgia Horsley and their family following his alleged 'kiss' with Maura Higgins earlier this month.

The McFly star was pictured appearing to lock lips with his I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! co-star at a Brit Awards afterparty but all of those involved have maintained radio silence on the incident until now.

Jones, who has been married to Horsley for 10 years and shares a six-year-old son with her, took to Instagram to post a short statement.

He wrote: "Hello everyone. Sorry it's taken me a while to post this but I've taken some time out to be with those closest to me.

"I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation.

"I love them so much and we'll continue to deal with this privately.

"I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding and support. See you all soon, Danny."

Higgins - a former Love Island star - has yet to comment on the events of the night.
