Former astronaut Buzz Aldrin has revealed that he has got married to his "longtime love" on his 93rd birthday.
In 1969 he made history as the first mission to put humankind on the Moon, following Neil Armstrong to become the second man to set foot on Earth's satellite.
Taking to Twitter, Aldrin shared the news that he has "tied the knot" with Dr Anca Vaur - reported to be 30 years his junior - in a small ceremony in LA.
He wrote: "On my 93rd birthday & the day I will also be honored by Living Legends of Aviation I am pleased to announce that my longtime love Dr. Anca Faur & I have tied the knot.
"We were joined in holy matrimony in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles & are as excited as eloping teenagers."
Vaur is Aldrin's fourth wife.
