Britney Spears has confirmed that she is engaged to her boyfriend of more than four years Sam Asghari.
The 39-year-old has been in celebratory mood recently as her father Jamie Spears finally agreed to withdraw from the controversial conservatorship that has seen her prevented from making most of her own decisions for over a decade.
Rumours of the couple's engagement had been circling for several days but Spears confirmed the news with a short video on Instagram showing off her ring.
In the accompanying caption she wrote: "I can't fucking believe it!!!!!!"
In a statement to People, the singer's spokesperson Brandon Cohen said: "The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them."
Asghari will become Spears's third husband.
