Austin Butler has reportedly become the latest victim in a spate of celebrity break-ins in Los Angeles.

The 33-year-old actor - star of films such as Elvis, Dune and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood - is said to have been out of the country when the burglary took place.

According to TMZ, Butler's security guard noticed that a glass door to his property was smashed and subsequently found his home "ransacked".

The guard told police that a gun and cash had been stolen but a full inventory is required to determine if anything else may have been taken.

The publication says that police are unsure if Butler was targeted specifically or if the robbery was inadvertent but an investigation has been launched.

Last month, footballer Olivier Giroud had items worth $500,000 (£386,000) stolen from his LA home, while other celebrities affected in recent years include Tom Hanks, Sarah Hyland and Marlon Wayans.
