Tom Swarbrick to host new flagship Sunday show on LBC

Tom Swarbrick will host a new Sunday morning show as part of LBC's new autumn schedule.

Tom Swarbrick is to host a new "agenda-setting" Sunday morning show as part of LBC's autumn schedule, it has been announced.

Swarbrick On Sunday will begin this weekend, airing from 10am to 1pm in the slot vacated by Nigel Farage, who left the station earlier this year.

"From the heart of Westminster, my new LBC Sunday morning show will be the place to hear and see those in power explain the decisions that affect us all," said Swarbrick, a former advisor to Theresa May during her time as prime minister.

"I'm thrilled to be able to explore the big issues of the day, speaking to those who will define our future at a time of unprecedented change. I can't wait to get started."

In other changes, Labour MP and shadow justice secretary David Lammy will front a new show in the 4pm to 7pm slot on Saturdays, while Rachel Johnson - sister of prime minister Boris Johnson - hosts between 7pm and 9pm on Sundays.

Johnson's show will be followed by An Inconvenient Ruth, a new in-depth interview series hosted by former Scottish Conservatives leader Ruth Davidson that starts this Sunday with former PM Tony Blair.

"Some politicians take time out at weekends by hitting the gym, reading books or going hillwalking," said Davidson, who will donate her fees to a cancer charity. "I'm excited to spend an hour on LBC talking to fascinating people about their life, their work and the change they're making to the world.

"From scientists to celebrities, artists to athletes and all sorts of world-beating figures in between, I'll be asking them to share their story - the hard times as well as the good. It should make absorbing listening."

LBC currently ranks as the UK's number one commercial news talk station, attracting an average of 2.8 million listeners a week.
