The Queen 'learning to use Skype and FaceTime'

The Queen is reportedly learning how to use Skype and FaceTime while in isolation at Windsor Castle.

The Queen is reportedly learning how to use Skype and FaceTime as the UK edges closer to a full lockdown to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

The 93-year-old monarch and her husband Prince Philip, 98, are isolating at Windsor Castle in an attempt to avoid the deadly disease, which disproportionately affects the elderly.

According to the Daily Mail, the Queen is being taught how to use Skype and FaceTime so that she can be briefed by experts over the coming weeks.

The Queen is also said to be keen to communicate with people battling against the spread of the disease, including NHS staff and charity workers.

Meanwhile, the monarch is thought to have arranged with the government to address the nation at some point in the near future.

"It has been agreed the address will happen at a key moment in the crisis and that it will be a hugely important way to lift the nation's morale," a source told the newspaper.

"There is no one more experienced than Her Majesty and she will know exactly the right moment to address the country.

"Sadly, there are some very difficult times ahead. The country is going to be hurting. The voice of Her Majesty will provide calm reassurance that, ultimately, we will get through this."

The Queen last addressed the nation in 2002 following the death of her mother.
