The 4400 to be rebooted for The CW

The CW orders a straight-to-series reboot of cult drama The 4400.

The CW has ordered a straight-to-series reboot of cult drama The 4400.

The show, which originally ran for four seasons on cable between 2004 and 2007, focuses on 4400 people who have gone missing over the course of a century but are all returned in the same instant without having aged a day.

Due to problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic, The CW is not holding a traditional pilot season and is instead ordering several shows straight to series.

The new series comes from Ariana Jackson and Anna Fricke, who were responsible for creating the network's popular Riverdale and have also overseen the reboot of Walker, Texas Ranger.

The 4400 is expected to form part of The CW's Fall lineup for the 2021-22 season.
